EPW - Borrell, London, pocket chronometer for the Turkish market, spring detent escapement with helical hairspring, 52mm, heavy 18K gold (tested) original HC with beautiful ornate engraving detail to the entirety of its exterior, gold cuvette with floral engraving detail around winding and setting apertures and around perimeter, floral engraved bezel, split push operating spring-loaded front and rear, white enamel dial with Turkish numerals, KWKS (key not included with this lot), spring detent escapement with capped escape wheel, free-sprung balance with helical hairspring, diamond endstone, likely 14-15J, gilt mvt, plates with exquisite floral engraving detail, s#5148. CONDITION:
Mvt: Running though with a periodic audible inconsistency in its escapement action, overhaul recommended for this issue, nearly mint cosmetic mvt condition overall, superb gilt tone, few small micro-fine scratches; nearly flawless dial with small fine scratch at center below hands; nearly mint hands; case shows little wear, few mild dings evident to inner surface of rear lid but with virtually no visibility to exterior surface, good engraving detail, case front lift spring not contacting lid to fully opened position and allowing lid to tip near halfway closed with gravity; bow pivots freely, split push shows light to medium wear; good glass crystal.
